Start of training at the HKK Hotel Wernigerode ****

It is not a day like any other. 8 young adults sit in the hotel's conference room and listen with palpable excitement and nervousness to the introductory words of Hotel Director Björn Rosenberg. Today marks the start of a new chapter in the lives of the new trainees at the Harzer Kultur- & Kongresshotel. They are embarking on their careers and facing new everyday challenges and tasks.

But it's not just a day like any other for the career starters: "Our welcome day for our new trainees is always something special for us too. We provide these young people with comprehensive information about their new role with us to help them start their new phase of life. It is part of our corporate welcome culture not to just throw anyone in at the deep end," says Björn Rosenberg.

It is particularly pleasing that the HKK Hotel Wernigerode **** can welcome 8 new trainees of different nationalities in their first year of training this year. Trainer Tino Ratai believes that it is above all the strong presence at careers fairs, the cooperation with institutions such as the Harz district and the employment agency as well as the incentives for young people that have made the hotel so successful in recruiting junior staff this year.

"8 trainees with 5 different nationalities - this multicultural diversity will enrich us and show us new ways to inspire young people for our industry - we are setting a good example here," continues Björn Rosenberg.

However, the hotel has also upgraded its qualified training in the hospitality industry - the number of employees with training qualifications was further increased this year through the training of Juliane Zimmermann and Hendrik Herre.

When asked why the new trainees chose a career in the hospitality industry, they all agreed that they enjoy working with people, having a variety of tasks and providing guests with a stay that they will remember for a long time.

That's exactly what our profession is all about.
