Setting the course for junior staff
History is being written in Wernigerode. For the first time, a cooperation between a Wernigerode business enterprise and a secondary school from Halberstadt has been sealed. Hotel director Björn Rosenberg from the HKK Hotel Wernigerode ****, principal Björn Ahlsleben from the European School "Am Gröpertor" in Halberstadt and Daniel Szarata met on Tuesday to sign the cooperation agreement. The member of parliament for the CDU parliamentary group in the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament made extra time for the event in the "Colorful City on the Harz Mountains". Student representatives from the school were also present at the talks. The aim of the cooperation is to make it easier for young people to find a career and find their bearings, to support them and to inspire talented young people for the industry.
The director of the hotel, Björn Rosenberg, was very pleased with the numerous representatives of the new cooperation partner present and emphasized how important such agreements are for the hotel. "The hotel has a well-established team with low staff turnover and long-standing employees, but the qualified training of young people and junior staff in particular is essential for the continuation of high-quality service in the hotel industry," said Rosenberg.
Björn Ahlsleben emphasized how important it is for him and his colleagues at the European School to give young people an understanding of starting a career and to prepare them for working life not only in theory, but also in terms of personal development. The school's team is always ready to listen to the young people's questions, problems and difficulties. "Just like at the HKK Hotel Wernigerode ****, there is little fluctuation and a permanent teaching staff at our school, for whom a complete and exemplary education is a matter of course," emphasizes Björn Ahlsleben.
"It is crucial for us to find key players in the region's economy who take the issue of promoting and training young people as seriously as we do. The HKK is a very important partner for us for a number of reasons. First of all, it offers our pupils the opportunity to pave the way into the economy of Wernigerode in terms of their career prospects. Secondly, the HKK is our partner in the hotel and catering professions and provides us with a well-organized career orientation. And last but not least, with such a strong partner, our school will also be able to broaden its range of content and offer important experience for the future through specific offers, such as etiquette courses or cooking workshops," continued Ahlsleben. Daniel Szarata was delighted with the exemplary approach of both cooperation partners in establishing collaboration beyond the city limits. "We need to start thinking more regionally and as a whole. Cooperation across city borders paves the way for the main municipal service providers to move closer together when it comes to recruiting young talent. For me, the Harz region with Wernigerode, Halberstadt and Quedlinburg is the model region in Saxony-Anhalt," said Szarata. The HKK Hotel Wernigerode **** and the European School "Am Gröpertor" in Halberstadt are looking forward to welcoming many interested and talented young people who will be paved the way to a successful professional future with the help of the cooperation signed today.
